Online Counseling: How do I do it?
Using a telephone for important and confidential matters, either talking person to person or the conference call system, both are very common. Web-cam (the hi-tech internet video-conferencing), takes us one step further by allowing us to “meet” and see each other, while communicating. And it is free!
Online Counseling, therefore, can be very similar to the traditional therapeutic process. We engage in ongoing conversations over time in which you, the client and I, your Online Counselor or Life Coach are in separate locations but still together. Since there are no traveling expanses - no distances to bridge and no parking fees - you may benefit from this cost effective and user friendly method that efficiently allows one to handle a variety of behavioral themes: overcome stress related issues or fear of failure; achieve goal setting and receive career coaching; succeed resolving family conflict and parenting dilemmas.
To summarize: it is both an old and new modality of assisting you in resolving life and relationship advice issues. Along the years I have gained a lot of experience in providing very effective Online Counseling services regarding stressful family issues, relationships advice, marriage crisis and sexuality difficulties.
Here are five short case summaries:
A professional (34 years old), after changing jobs twelve times in seven years he realized he had a problem to resolve. Online Counseling regarding stress management and Relationship Advice regarding dialogues with co-workers and superiors was needed prior to searching once again for a new job.
A young couple with no children yet, wanted to break their four year pattern of quickly disputing about (money, location of residence, relatives and social lifestyle) which always intensified into a long hostile silence. Once they accepted my Online Marriage Counseling assessment that it was prior modeling, unconsciously acquired from parents of both sides that caused their bad habits, it was easy to find the alternatives. They quickly adopted constructive ways of decision making and conflict resolution techniques.
A handsome and very rich 40 year old male regressed into a situational depression: he could not function in his life after a devastating break-up with whom he was so ready to marry. Obviously, it was NOT just Relationship Advice counseling he needed, but a re-evaluation of his value system regarding the needs of women. As his Online Counselor and Life Coach I encouraged him to utilize qualities that he previously regarded as too feminine: listening, showing interest, expressing feelings and seeking advice or help. When he started dating again he leaned on his personality, not his money, without a fear of failure.
A couple’s intimacy faded after two years of marriage. Their sessions with me started as Stress Management Life coach and Relationship Advice provider but developed soon into Online Marriage Counseling, once it was revealed that the outside involvement of family members was the main destructive factor in their lives.
A senior level manager who became raged and highly tempered several times during a two months period was actually forced by his supervisor to do something about it; he refused to attend Stress Management group (probably due to his shame) so he turned to me for Online Counseling. Being smart and mature, he quickly related his destructive behavior to his failing attempts, which he kept secretly, of finding a higher-paying job. He felt under-appreciated. Analysis of the job market in regards to his age, experience and average income turned our session into business coaching. With the blessing of his employer, he was given two consulting days per week and therefore was financially ready to start a new stimulating career path as a self employed consultant. Thankfully, he admitted that my involvement as his Online Counselor and Life Coach helped him make a successful career transformation, as well as saving his family due to the Relationship Advice remarks that he received.
